Katie and Grace were playing jail this morning.Today I went downtown with the kids to do a little shopping - we needed to get Sam's birthday presents. At one point, (in the Lego section of H&M) I lost sight of Katie and called out, "Katie, where are you?" Then I heard Sam call, "Katie, Wo bist du?" I did a huge double take. Sam just smiled.
Staying here in Germany for two months is too tantalizing. We are just now starting to really figure out the way things work. The kids are absorbing some new language. Isaac has finally adjusted to the 7 hour time change and is again sleeping almost through the night. How frustrating that we are leaving soon.
Katie displaying the twirlosity of her new dress.Dave took a picture of his favorite German.I spent 2 Euros on bathroom visits during today's shopping trip. No complimentary restrooms in the stores here. Though the McDonald's restroom was free when we were there a while back. The things we take for granted. Katie took this photo of Sam. Apologies for his half-nakedness, but it is his uniform of late. He doesn't put on his clothes until right before we go out. And for some reason, tonight they came off again once we got home.Sam enjoying our local strawberries. You wouldn't believe how great they taste. Their texture is ideal - even the huge berries are delicious. The other night, Dave was watching Saving Private Ryan. Of course it is dubbed into German. Kind of weird to watch the Allied soldiers talking and hear German come out. Not nearly as disturbing as watching Hannah Montana though (in German OR English!)Sam was trying out the buoyancy of the boat he built. Everyone in the family (except the youngest) is starting to look a bit shaggy in the hair department. Hair cuts all around upon our return stateside.
Katie's new dress is awesome!!! finding a twirlable dress for the summer is really hard, good for her!!!!
