After she was removed from Isaac's head, it was tummy-time. Just another angle to work for Grace.(No babies were harmed in the documenting of this event. Isaac likes Grace's attention, and though it looks like she is smashing his face, she's actually being pretty gentle.)This morning, after a quick trip to the strawberry shack to replenish our supply, we headed to the market via the new route next to the school to see what other neat stuff we could find. Beyond the playground from yesterday (which was in use by kids from the school - no teachers to be seen though! - there seems to be less helicopter parenting in Germany), we found this little Lord-of-the-Flies shantytown. It looks like the kids from the school take old castaway lumber, bricks, broken chairs and wheels, and create their own city. How cool is this!Past the shantytown we found another natural playground, this one for slightly older kids. The turntable. The ropes course. The tree-limb jungle gym.Isaac fell asleep while I was feeding him in a hammock. Ah, what a life. It'll be hard for American playgrounds to measure up after the neat experiences we have had here.Sam had been holding Isaac for a while while I was cleaning up after lunch. His expression reflects his multiple requests of, "Mom, can you take Isaac now?" Sam's a big help, but he has his limits.Winding down after the day. We met Dave at the playground after work for another stop at the market. During the process of walking there, we lost Sam for a while - still not sure how it happened. Sam knew where he was the entire time, so he didn't see any problem with it. I didn't have such a carefree outlook about it. I like that the kids feel so independent here and know their way around, but they don't yet feel any of the responsibility that goes with it.

Isaac: "Gee, sorry Dad. I had no idea I could projectile vomit the full length of your arm..."
