Kristen joined us for grøt on Friday. Well, kind of. Here's Petter eating grøt and Kristen eating a vegan salad. |
Friday was the last day at school for Sam and Katie. Their classes gave them some lovely keepsakes to remember them by. They made some great friends and had wonderful experiences at the school. If we are ever lucky enough to come back to Trondheim for another stay, we'll definitely come back to this school.

The first grade class watching Rudolph at the end of the day. Katie is laying on the floor with an icepack on her face. Details on that to come. |

The boot room. If this were smellavision, right now, you would be overwhelmed by the aroma of mildew. Carpeting and wet boots are not a good combo. |
|
Sam liked to depart the boot room through this window. |

Grace's boot room. Sam and Katie were waiting around for me - I came to walk home with them to help them carry all their last day of school stuff. |

Katie had a tough day. At recess, she was climbing up a sledding hill and got knocked onto her face by a sled careening down the hill. She had quite a duck lip, but the swelling came down by Sunday. |
|
The temperature was below 0 Celsius, but this was Sam's choice of clothing for the walk home. |
|
The hill in the background is where Katie took her dive. That hill is completely covered in ice - makes for a great sledding run, but not so great for walking on. I demonstrated this on the walk home by climbing two thirds of the way up the hill, slipping, and sliding on my keister all the way down. |
Ouch. Sledding collisions are never pleasant.
ReplyDeleteI bet the kids are sad to leave school. I hope Sam and Katie keep in touch with their friends. What a trooper that Katie is! :-)
