Snowsuits become part of the daily gear

Temperatures are now below freezing when we head off to school, so it's time to get out the warm gear.  Thanks to generous Trondheim neighbors and friends, we have snowsuits for all the kids.  At least, the sizes are close enough that the kids can wear them for our remaining month and a half in Norway.

Grace (and her smile) all decked out for school on Friday
The view from our bedroom window this Saturday morning.  One of the neatest things about our house's location is that we can always see the cathedral, especially neat at night when it is lit.  It's a beautiful sight when the city is dark and the spire of the church is all aglow.  Adds a perk to getting up in the middle of the cold night to use the bathroom.

These two are quite a pair.
Reading a biography of Napolean.
Hitting the streets for a morning trip to the neighborhood playground.  Isaac was very conscientious about wearing his helmet this morning.  We saw a bicycler do a spectacular wipe out on the ice on our way to school yesterday (she wasn't hurt), but Isaac kept commenting on how she didn't have a helmet on.

Truckin'

Everything was delightfully crispy.
Good times on the teeter-totter with the big brother

They grow so darn quick.

Katie tried to implement a great idea for how to earn money - begging with a coffee cup.  I clarified to her that there is a distinction between earning money and begging for money.  Not so sure she got it.
This June, Dave missed Father's Day because he away at a math conference (in Norway).  Lucky for us, Farsdag (Father's Day) is this weekend in Norway.  The kids all made something for Dave.
Dave unwrapped a coffee table book about Trondheim and a bag of m&ms, which he shared.  :)

  1. Great photographs! Grace is just the bees knees. Her love of history makes me love her more, unless she is just reading the Napoleon bio to plot a take over of Norway, but she would still be mega cool. :-)
