Faces of Saturday

The kids were industrious this morning.
Counting muffin cups
Making a paper gun while listening to Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
Building a barn for the cows.
We have discovered a new aspect of Isaac's personality - he loves shoes.  He wants to wear nifty shoes all the time.  This pair is his latest favorite.

After lunch, we went to the Museum of Natural History and Archeology.  It was great - full of neat surprises.

Such as this moose
Katie had on her reflective wristband, so in every shot with the flash, she is extra sparkly.
Coming out of the lookout tower in the hall of animals
Clearly not all these animals are indigenous to Norway
This giant squid is a replica of one that washed up onto the shores of Trondheim decades ago.  It is gigantic, and has two incredibly long tentacles, one of which was wrapped around a shark in this display.
After a trip to the restroom, Grace was enormously entertained by trying to keep all of the lockers in the lunchroom closed at the same time.
There are three main buildings making up the museum.  This was on our way between buildings.  Another classic "Oh, Mom" look from Katie.
This was an exhibit of medieval Trondheim.  The boat was meant to be a replica of the boat in which Olav Tryggvason landed in Trondheim.  Sam was completely freaked out by this portion of the museum.  It was dark, filled with creepy wooden people, and creepy mood music added to the ambiance.  He eventually went downstairs and waited in the cafe, while the rest of us toured the exhibit.
Grace kept caringly holding the hand of this beggar girl.  She's so compassionate.
Katie made some friends in one of the medieval houses.

After meeting up with Sam in the cafe

On the walk home.  It's pitch dark shortly after 4pm.
Grace's birthday cake for tomorrow.  Shhhhh - don't tell her!
