I haven't been making much progress on my knitting between meetings of our knitting club, but I got a big chunk done when we met on Thursday. I turned the heel!

The ragg sock pattern that came with my yarn is in Norwegian of course. In general, Google Translate has been a very useful tool, but let me tell you, it doesn't do so good with knitting instructions. So I've given up on using my pattern and now I am just following along with what the others in the group are knitting. The down side is that when I'm at a tricky spot (like right now, when I need to do some decreasing) I have to wait for the next meeting to find out what to do next. But once I finish this next step, I'll have 16 cm of straight knitting to get down to the toes. The end is in sight! I am so proud. Our next project is a Swedish cowl - they are all the rage here. Of course, first I need to knit the mate to this sock.
Congrats on turning the heel! I remember that being a mighty tricky knitting technique.
ReplyDeleteBut why do the Swedes claim the cowl? Is it a special Svensk design? They're all the rage here, too, but no one's calling them Swedish... : )
This looks store bought, high end. You should be proud. Great colours too!
