I was picking up Isaac from barnehage on Friday, and his teacher let slip that, "Shhh, don't tell anyone, but we gave the kids some cookies this afternoon."  The kindergarten is officially sugar-free, so snacks like that aren't often on the table.  Seems like a pretty good policy.  The other kids' school is sugar-free too.   Their snacks are always fruit and bread, and the meals are wholesome and healthy.  Though Sam's standard lunch is to grab two pieces of bread and eat them outside so he can have more time at recess with his friends.  No wonder he always comes home starving.

Isaac has made some great friends at his school.

Smiling through lunch
This one of the days that Isaac took his nap outside in the stroller.  Now he sleeps inside on the mattress, but I'm told he always holds the hand of his friend Maria while he sleeps.
Super climber.  Isaac's frog boots hit the dust this week.  We discovered a hole in the heel of one boot during our day at the lake last weekend.  Luckily, the folks from whom we are renting the house left some of their boys' outgrown rain and snow gear for us to use, so now Isaac is proudly wearing a pair of pirate rain boots.

Isaac's whole class at lunch time.  Isaac sits at the "big kid table" ( the rectangular one) with his buddies.  His class has ten kids ranging in age from 1 to 3 years old, along with three teachers.  It's nice to have a mix of ages - the older ones get to be leaders and practice being good example for the younger ones.
With his best buds
What great smiles.  These kids are happy - and we are so grateful that Isaac is in such a wonderful place during the day.
