A regular day

Today felt like a regular day - it's starting to feel like everything is clicking. Didn't think to get the camera out too much. Sam and Katie made a friend on the playground using the universal language of dizziness.

Grace and Isaac took a good outdoor snooze in their wheels.

Using my lack of cheese knowledge coupled with my even poorer knowledge of the German language, at the market I mistakenly bought some cubes of cheese that tasted like smelly socks that have been rolled in chalk. It's in the trash now. The chocolate ice cream was a hit though. I can't get that wrong, even in a different language - it's a gift of mine.

Laundry distribution day was today - fresh towels and sheets for all. I don't have to wash them! I think we need to arrange this service back home!

Speaking of laundry, I found a pile of English-language novels in the laundry room. Now, while I feed Isaac, I am reading Jane Austen's Mansfield Park. Haven't read a fiction book in ages.

Sam is going to Skype (video call on the computer) with his kindergarten teacher, Ms. Hilton, and his class tomorrow. He can't wait.

  1. I know how much Karin & George would enjoy your blog (they don't have a pc) so I printed it all out for them (black & white)and took it to church on Sunday and then they weren't there! I forgot their grandson was graduating from college. I called her tonight and told her how much you love it over there and she said I knew they would! So now I will print everything until I see them on 5/31 as we won't be there Sunday. She will owe me an ink cartridge by then!

  2. Ms Hilton, eh? Wonder if she's any relation to the Hiltons of hotel fame?
